Position Summary
The Service Technician I supports the Service Technicians, Senior Service Technicians, and Supervisor in the installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and biomedical equipment. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and customer service while ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, calibration, certification, and repair of laboratory and biomedical equipment.
Assist with equipment installations, removals, repairs, and technical service calls both onsite and remotely.
Provide first-level customer support by phone and communicate effectively to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Document service activities, generate reports, and manage service tickets through Salesforce and other tracking systems.
Maintain accurate inventory and control of equipment, tools, and parts within the workshop and storage areas.
Monitor equipment performance using remote monitoring systems and stay updated on product changes and technical manuals.
Support operational activities including equipment transportation, training setups, conferences, demonstrations, and company events.
Ensure compliance with safety, decontamination, quality, and customer service standards while working collaboratively with internal teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Repair or equivalent technical discipline.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service and at least one (1) year performing technical service or equipment repair functions.
Valid driver’s license and valid passport with availability to travel within and outside Puerto Rico.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Availability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
