Contralor

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to oversee all accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a key part in managing budgets, audits, and internal controls while guiding the finance team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounting cycle, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closings.
  • Supervise and guide staff in accounting, credit and collections, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.
  • Coordinate external audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors and government entities.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of sales tax, professional services withholdings, municipal licenses, and related obligations.
  • Monitor cash flow and approve fund transfers to meet payroll and operational needs.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and team performance.
  • Collaborate with departments such as sales, operations, and customer service on financial planning and process alignment.
  • Support the CFO with strategic initiatives, risk management, and system improvements.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting leadership, including external audits and financial reporting.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and corporate finance practices.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail when reviewing financial data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English, verbal and written.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with adaptability to dynamic work environments.
  • Availability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays if required.
