Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Commercial P&C underwriting team.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to underwriting staff and team members.
- Review, evaluate, and underwrite commercial insurance risks in accordance with
- carrier guidelines.
- Oversee the preparation, placement, and servicing of commercial accounts with
- insurance carriers.
- Maintain effective communication with producers, carriers, and clients.
- Monitor renewals, endorsements, and new business submissions.
- Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory
- standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, underwriting processes, and operational
- efficiency.
- Support the professional development and performance of team members.
Qualifications
- Experience in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in the Cover All system is required.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, risk evaluation, and
- underwriting practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Professional insurance designation such as CIC, CISR, or related preferred.
- Knowledge of the Puerto Rico insurance market is highly desirable.
